Why is Vamp in Metal Gear Solid called Vamp because of his sexuality?
Vamp is a character in a video game (best video game of all time) called metal gear solid, and he specialises in knives, has temporary immortality, and has fangs. Every time he stabs someone, he licks the knife clean and relishes in the taste. People originally though that vamp was short for vampire, but Solid Snake, the protagonist of the series said during a Codec radio transmission: "No, Vamp isn’t short for vampire. It’s because he’s bisexual."
Now, I don’t get that. How is Vamp a name for a bisexual person?!

Heh people don’t bother reading your description. I realised Vamp was bis-sexual via the Codec transmission too. I also wondered why but I just assumed it was some sort of Japenese langauge name that the didn’t need to change because it fits the translation.
Its just a joke, he is bysexual yeah but i think when Snake said that in MGS2 he cut off really quickly soon afterwards so i think i was some sort of ramdom joke.
"vamp" was short for vampire and originated with Theda Bara — it meant a seductive woman who uses her charms to entrap men. (She played a seductive vampire in some 1915 silent film.) so maybe since he kinda was a little on the feminine side they just named him that for kicks
