it is horrible no doubt, but some woman can bear that pain some not i cant i took epidural my sis in law gave natural birth and there is one more thing the pain is vary woman to woman some women’s gave natural birth my aunt did and she said it wasn’t that bad but i don’t kno she was telling the truth or what?
I asked my mum about giving birth and she said the contractions were painful but the actual birth was all good.
I went into my pregnancy not knowing really what I was going to do. I didn’t know if I was going to get an epidural or try to go natural so I basicly went in to it feeling like whatever happens happens. If I could go through it natural I was going to but if I needed an epidural I kept that option open as well. I was in labor for 14 hours after about 8 hours of it I couldn’t take the pain and I was exhausted and needed sleep so I opted for the epidural. I gave any woman that can take natural birth a lot of credit because it is very painful
Depends on your personal ability to deal with pain. I, personally, have don’t have a high pain tolerance, so for me, YES, it’s horrible! Contractions are the worst pain you can imagine in your stomach. Combination of horrible, horrible, horrible cramps, combined with the most horrific stomach pain you can have, similar to the pain you have with a very bad stomach flu or food poisoning, only worse, and much longer! Though, I do have friends who say it wasn’t too bad, really just depends on how well you deal with pain!
It is! I’m not going to lie. It hurts like heck! It’s like going through the valley of the shadow of death. I almost passed out from pain and I was vomiting like crazy. But once you get to transition the pain isn’t really there anymore and you just do it. There is always an epidural if you decide you can’t handle it.
well- everyone is different. it also depends on your pain tolerance. i don’t really have that good of one myself, but i made it through! i didn’t get pain medication either. i would suggest two things: one don’t listen to anyone’s advice or horror stories about labor and birth, it only causes more anxiety, and second, exercise and exercise often! seriously. it sounds kind of dumb but it helps! i walked six miles a day (becuase i had gestational diabetes and i had to) and because i exercised and i was in good shape i didn’t expereince any pain until i was fully dialated and my water broke. Any exercise is good but i know walking works. it makes a whole lot of difference.
The contractions are the worst part of pregnancy. I was going natural but ended up having to get a c-section. It wasnt as bad as it sounded as far as i got
Yes, it’s painful, but our bodies are made to handle it. Plus, if you are relaxed and let your body do what it needs to do, not fighting it, it makes it much easier to handle. If we didn’t have epidurals and pain medications every woman would HAVE to give birth naturally (except for those who truly need c-sections). So don’t listen to this bullshit about pain tolerances and what you can handle. Seriously, no one has EVER died from the pain of childbirth.
And yes, after a 26 hour labor, fighting to keep from passing out during the really tough contractions, I do know what I’m talking about.
Birth should NOT be the scary thing people make it out to be. It is normal. It is not a medical emergency. It is the most beautiful, amazing thing ever.
No. I have had four natural births using the Bradley method. Natural birth where you practice and prepare yourself does not have to be severe pain. I only had moderate pain with contractions. Over 90% of those who use the Bradley method do not need pain medication.
