Can anyone recommend any NON FICTION books about mythical creatures?

It can be a book on just one creature e.g. Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons, Mermaids etc.
Or a book about all of them.

I find this subject very interesting and i already have books about faeries, so i don’t need books about them.

NO STORY BOOKS PLEASE!
They could include folklore, myths, real sightings and stories, information about the real creatures, HISTORY!

Also any great websites? They can just be about one particular creature or many.

I do not know whether i believe or not, i already have several books about faeries but now want to branch out. Thank you.

Some people would say this, and i know "Mythical" is, but this is what people call them so i used it.
I mean books that are not stories like fairytales.

PLOT: A researcher found papers in his dad’s old file (the dad is dead). In those papers, contains big information and pics of an unbelievable discovery, a vampire. As he learns more about this mysterious vampire, he joins with a group of people that agreed to search the vampire with him, in his team he grows a relationship with a woman. They travel around away from home searching for the vampire sightings to find it. But trouble has come as they end up in a town in the middle of the woods, that town is one marked for danger zone where the vampire has most sightings and kills. Reporters called it "kills" but what the team is about to find out is no kill, but transformation, more vampires. Him and his team must save lives that may be in danger of vampire attacks, and protect the one he loves.

I’m fascinated by vampires, and how there are different sightings of them all over the world, and have been for hundreds of years . . . I’m just interested in any information about how the suspicion was created and what it was made from?

now the bible speaks of demons..so we know they exist..so why not vampires or werewolves..they have been told sightings since the begining for as long as the story of both have been around..both are demons.?
dragons might have.we have seen gaint today..those that are over 7 ft tall they don't live long.but do you guy think the other exist even if you have not seen them

Some people say you ain't really seeing things, but why do so many people report seeing things so what do ya'll think about that. If you say everybody who says they saw something is crazy. I guess alot of the people in the world are crazy then and i'm one of them because i have seen an Angel.

1. New USA’s “secret” crafts?
2. Aliens' space crafts from another planet(s)?
3. Weather baloons :)?
4. Natural phenomenon?
5. Misinterpretation (a planet Venus, a meteor, a plane or some other sh*ts)?
6. A mass hallucination!? (millions of people are crazy :))

PS: over 90% of all reported sightings can be explained, but even this 10% means a hundred thousands of unexplained sightings. Also many, many other sightings were not reported. Usually people don't want to talk about it.

I need a field guide or something, so that I can get information. It has to be serious, because my professor is really picky. It has to have lots of creatures (vampires, werewolves, selkies, mermaids, nymphs, idk), And lots of info, without recent sightings or anything like that. I don’t need one with stupid “sightings” in it, just lots of information. I really need help with this. It has to be kinda professional looking, (I have to show it to my class) , so could it be plain, big, old, and no dumb pics on the outside? I really need help! thanks ps, it has to look authentic, it will total push my grade up if it looks like from a movie or something.

I know it sounds kind of shallow, but how could a being existent or not have so many legends and stories of sightings and occurrences if they do not exist? I'm not sure what I believe about them. So, Share your thoughts, please. Anf try to keep the feedback positive. Thanks!

Hi there. Been doing a bit of reading on cases of so called 'real' vampires (such as those witnessed in Highgate, Kirklees etc). Recorded sightings seem to be pretty scant, however. Does anybody know of any documented cases of 'real' vampires circa 1700s +?

(I would like to stress, when I say real vampires, I'm talking about actual animated corpses…not human beings that drink blood.)

Haven't you ever wondered about this? I should think vampires do, they drink blood. If the blood hardens in the stomach, would they require a stool softner? ETs, that's a diferent story. What would they eat if they do eat? All the UFO sightings on earth, could they be looking for a restroom?

Hopefully you know that the 19th century was between 1800-1899, and it was in that time period Bram Stoker wrote Drakula. Since then there have been a lot of vampire novels, movies, and even "actual/real" vampire sightings/reports. I want to know not only WHERE bram stoker got his idea. i know that there was a dude way back when named vlad drakula, but that is about it. all knowledge online seems to talk about chupacabra, and 19th century-present vampire tales. from what i've read modern vampire tales are very charming beautiful vampires but the oldest tales i read they sound like they look more like zombies and act weird too.help me find some concrete and sound ancient or midevil vampire legends and stuff like that. would be appreciated. ty.

I know it takes time to find them and the matchmaker person doesn't ever bring them well sometimes but not always. So where is the place that has the most vampire sightings?
