I want to quit smoking and I don’t think I can go cold turkey. I have heard a lot about chantix. Some people seem to have great success and others describe terrible side effects which sound scary. My mother used wellbutrin and has not smoked in 18 months. A friend mentioned something called clonodine, a blood pressure medication used to treat withdrawal symptoms. I am going to Speak to my doctor about this, but I’m curious about other people’s experiences.

I always thought it would be funny to go to a Halloween party disguised as a chair. I would get there before anyone else and find a place in the room where I look like just another piece of furniture. After everyone was there and the party had been going on for a while I would stand up and see everyone’s reactions.

Do you think this would work?

My wife has a great deal of pain associated with her period. Serious cramping and fatigue that truly impacts her life and even makes it difficult for her to go to work for a few of the days every month. My wife has almost a week of premenstrual discomfort, a week of serious cramping, fatigue, and bleeding, and then literally another week just to recover. So instead of the idea that her period lasts one-week a month, it is almost like my wife only feels herself one-week a month. Are there any women out there that go through similar stages? My wife has been to doctors over this but they have told her that it is just her body and her cycle… they prescribe some serious pain killers but I hate her to take narcotics just so she can function. Bonus Question: Have any of you tried those drugs that claim to limit your periods to like 4 a year? Do they work, are your fewer periods worse because of the pills, the side effects sound really scary to us…. Thank you all for advise or input.

When I say shocking/loud sounds, I’m talking about scenes in a movie that may make you jump, usually because the sound is loud or the scene was scary. For ex: when a cop takes out a gun, I’d anticipate the moment he shoots (which is loud). I’d also anticipate the point of a scary movie when I feel like someone creepy will jump at the screen (usually includes loud sounds). Thing is, when I anticipate, I get nervous. I start to feel tense and I sometimes want to close my ears so that the sound doesn’t make me jump. I hate that feeling of nervousness (one of the things that I never look forward to when I go to the cinemas, since the sound is loud and surrounding you). This is clearly not normal…what’s wrong with me? Anxiety?

Ok, so I DON’T have severe acne. But before you say, "If your acne isn’t severe, you shouldn’t go on it." Here’s my story:

I have this STUPID acne on my chin that’s pretty much ruined my life. Its in no way severe, but it is PERSISTANT and deep, under the skin kind that just won’t go away. It hurts, they are big, red, and sore. The weird part? The rest of my face is totally clear!! It is just my chin and jawline.

Before I got my acne, I had confidence. I’m in a band, I WAS a model. It has completely distroyed my modelling career. It makes my self esteem so bad. I have tried: benzoyl peroxide, differin, erthyromicyn , birth control pills, antibiotics. NOTHING works. But its not even severe again! I don’t get it. Most non-severe acne clears up with treatment.

Anyways, my doc recommended accutane but I am so scared. Im only 17 and the side effects sound so scary to me. Thinning hair? Dry hair?? I’m a model I can’t have this! And what about contacts? will i be able to wear them ?
I have also tried diet to clear up my acne. Didnt work. Should I go on Accutane? has anyway has positive experiences with it???
I don’t continue to model thats the problem:( I am a pretty person if it werent for my acne!

Hi Everyone!

I work at an adult daycare, around the elderly and disabled. They spend the day at the facility playing games and socializing. Most of the participants have Alzheimer’s or are diabetic. Does anyone know of any little gifts I can get them for Halloween and Christmas?

I was thinking cookies or little stuffed animals? I don’t want it to sound to cheezy. I can’t afford to much, so something small and cheap would be great.

I enjoy scary movies. I Also have 6mo old twins. So, I really dont have any "alone" time to watch one w/o them around… I know that they are too young to understand what’s going on in the movie or know that it’s "scary". But, they also say that they are too young to be frightened by strangers at this age or earlier but both of my girls have been afraid of people with dark hair since around 3-4mo’s old! I have some very smart girls and i know everyone always says this, but really, my girls are developmentally ahead of their age. So, I guess I am just worried that the sounds in a scary flick can scare them, or give them nightmares without them even knowing or understanding why or what they are afraid of. If you think about it, the scariest part of a scary movie are the sounds and the music! Have you ever hit the mute button on one?? Its not scary in ANY way! How have we learned that certain sounds/music notes are scary? Is it a "learned" response through experience?? if so, then how come we are scared in new movies w/ new and different sounds? They dint use the same sounds/music in EVERY scary movie!
Ethel-really? I didnt know that… why is that? why do they make videos for babies? That would be really hard to not watch tv around them.. that would mean that we cant ever watch it.. they refuse to nap during the day, but have slept all through the night(for the most part..) since 8 weeks… so, they are around all day and night, but if it can harm them, then ill definately try to stop!! Its really going to be hard to do, but i dont want to knowingly and selfishly do something that cld hurt them!!;(
