I’m goin as a Dark Fairy for Halloween, and I’m making my own costume (not sewing, just going out and buying the items needed.) I have everything BUT the top, and i dont know what to use. if it helps, im having a black teardrop tutu, black and purple striped tights, glovelets, and black, gray, and purple wings. What should i use for the top? Also, any suggestions for a hairstyle and makeup would be helpful.

Does anybody have any drawing ideas that I could do? I am pretty experienced and I perfer more depressing ideas that include death, tears, ect. Anything with faeries is also good as well angels. Also ideas that are similar to gothic fairy tales.

Can you think of any good music (classical, movie theme, etc) that makes you think of a dark fairy tale or something from Gothic literature?

I bought tiny rhinestones and spirit gum with remover for my daughter halloween costume. She is going to be a beautiful woodland fairy (nothing dark, gothic or scary) She is a young teenager so she dose not want anything childish but beautiful and "realistic" looking. I am looking for a pattern of what to draw around her eye (like fairy wings, flower, pretty pattern). I will draw the pattern around her eye then put spirit gum and outine the pattern in tiny rindestones. If you can find something on line please send me the link or if you are artisticly inclined please draw something new original and beautiful for me it would be great. I’m writing a creative paper for my Gothic literature course and one of the options is to write a gothic fairy tale, because we read Angela Carter’s feminist re-writings of classic fairy tales. I decided to do the same thing with Hansel and Gretel. I’ve renamed them Hunter and Grace, but I’m not sure how to start it off. Angela Carter’s stories have a creepy, uncontented-like feel, but I’m not really sure about how to do that with my story. Any tips?

I am going to be an emo/gothic fairy. My costume is pink and black knee high socks, a black tutu, a black top, pink and black arm things (the ones with a hole 4 your thumbs) and black fairy wings. I am going to wear lots of black eye liner, black and grey eye shadow, pale powder/foundation then either bright red lip gloss, pink lip gloss or clear lip gloss. How should I do my hair?

My parents are starting to think I’m goth because I have a lot of black and grey shirts and I painted my nails black. I wasn’t doing it to look goth, I just thought the shirts were pretty because they had these intricate silvery designs on them that I liked, and I just painted my nails so that they would match everything I wore and I wouldn’t have to worry about clashing. Plus, she doesn’t realize a lot of people, not just goths, paint their nails black now.

Anyways, I’m afraid that if I say I want to be a gothic fairy for Halloween, it will push my mom over the edge and she’ll start saying that I’m becoming a goth and all that crap.

So how do I tell her that I want to be a gothic fairy without that happening?

And does anyone know of any good gothic fairy costumes? I’m 12, almost 13, and I don’t want one of those slutty cosumes where your boobs hang out and the dress is a few inches down from the waist.

So if anyone could give me some advice with the mom situation and/or show me some good pictures of gothic fiary costumes, I’d really appreciate it!
