I’m reading some vampire books so I wanted to know which one was the best.

some place that would sell a black skirt that is short and isn’t business casual? I need it for Halloween.

I am writing a vampire novel and I’m making the bios now and I can’t think of a soft spot for one of the clan leaders, I don’t want anything too predictable, out of the blue, or like Twilight.

THE STORY GOES LIKE THIS

there is a girl who has visions of this vampire in her dreams …an then there is a guy who is trying to protect her,,, but this vampire has some kind of link with the girl and there are two other female vampires…now this vampire isnt you usual vamp lookin guy,,,he wears all black and i think a scene near the ending is in som ekind of carnival setting…

few more thing i can remember, it has no black actors in it, and near the ending the girl goes into a room where i think her dad has just been eaten by the female vampires an then she comes out of that room an there is the real male vampire, they are in a old house/mansion…thats when they guy turns up to save her….hope that helps

‘Twilight’ is a teenage vampire romance novel that communicates themes of isolation and deep affection. Due to family related issues, the stories protagonist; Bella, is forced to move to the dreary town of Forks. At first she faces a number of social dilemmas in her attempt to avoid the awkward alienation of moving to a small school, but soon attracts an abundance of attention. This is where Bella meets her future love interest; Edward. In an awkward fashion, Bella is acquainted with this seemingly strange character, of whom is later revealed to be a vampire. Over time their relationship strengthens and Bella delves deeper into the mysterious life of Edward, and learns much of his past. After 400 pages of romantic drivel, a bad guy turns up (finally) and begins an action packed hunt for Bella and her all too alluring blood. Predictably, Edward and the clan arrive to heroically save the foolish Bella, who is tricked into a less than desirable situation of life threatening proportions.

The story explores a number of themes including good and evil, teenage social issues and love’s ability to overcome boundaries. The latter theme is significantly important as Edward’s ’struggle within’ could be considered the main concept within the text. It portrayed the feeling of "love conquers temptation", as Edward’s love for Bella overcame his thirst for her blood. Throughout the book Bella is aware of the dangers of Edward’s nature but the powerful force of their love shields her from this perception. In turn, Edward is torn between the feelings of, wanting to leave Bella to ensure her safety but also longing to spend the rest of his life with her. This portrays the typical; "girl loves partner who is bad for her well-being" theme, however it’s corny and clichéd execution leaves it lacking in genuine emotion. It is unfortunate that for Stephanie Meyer, embedding themes and morals within her text was clearly not a priority.

I felt that the character development was lacking and often inconsistent. Stephanie Meyer has failed to invent any trace of likable character traits, resulting in uniformly bland characters. The author’s sheer neglect towards her creations is saddening, and was more than detrimental to the overall chemistry of the two lovers. Bella is portrayed as a clumsy, unmotivated teenager and Edward, a dark, domineering character that is unnecessarily overpowering in their relationship, much to the point of which he is unlikeable. This becomes, at times almost derogatory, as much of the plot is based on the formula of ‘Edward heroically saves Bella from impending danger’, highlighting Bella’s pathetic reliance on Edward. In terms of romance, I found it to be remarkably shallow. It appears that Bella loves Edward for his perfectly sculpted facial features and flawless complexion, and Edward lusts over the scent of Bella’s blood. This superficial romance is supported by endless comments regarding Edwards overwhelming perfection, which appears to be a substitute for character depth. In fact, I found that there was at least one description of Edwards’s beauty every three or so pages, which was not only stomach churning but also very irritating. Written from the perspective of first person, the reader is held hostage to Bella’s insipid thoughts. For this reason the book is long and drawn out, centered around a thin slither of plot that has been stretched to it’s absolute maximum. I felt it was at least 200 pages too long, as a result, we are left with too much filler content to really hold the readers attention.
All points considered, I can only come to a negative conclusion about this novel. As a teenager of this generation I felt a certain obligation to indulge in this incredibly popular vampire saga, if only to investigate the legitimacy of all the hype, and maybe even be enlightened by some quality literature. After all, I believe the concept had potential, however I regret that the experience was less than enthralling, leading to nothing but disappointment. For such a heavily consumed book and an iconic bible amongst teenage girls, the content that binds it’s many pages is certainly not inspirational. In fact the scarcity of morals and quality role models isn’t ideal. Nor is its overvalued importance of beauty, as that is the only reason Bella is in love Edward. For these reasons, Twilight’s unjustified popularity is somewhat concerning.
Hi, thanks for the answers. I should have mentioned that technically it isn’t supposed to be an essay. More a book review. Our teacher said the first paragraph should be an overview of the books events. The second and third should focus on either Themes, Characters, Setting, Style of Writing etc…. and the fourth is a conclusion…. and we are supposed to use personal voice. I love vampire books, but not the ones where if you’re a vampire you must be evil. I’m looking for some vampire books! I know of some, but I would love suggestions!
PS My absolute faves are romance books with vamps!

I need to make a poem that metaphoric in describing myself.

I am quiet, shy, observant, intelligent, with a dark past, I like to have fun playing games.
The content of poem:
-Its got 12-15 lines
-Appropriate title
-Vivid Descriptions
-Metaphor carried throughout the poem
-Obvious flow/organization/word choice

Example:
Title: Bat
My son is a bat.
His eyes blink when darkness comes.
His body stirs with life.
His limbs gorge with blood.
as he sets out through the cave of night
his roof the stars
the moon a big white eye watching.
Attracted by the false lights
he mingles with his batty friends
weaving in and out of nightclubs
endless parties
each other’s places
till sensing the sudden ebb
of darkness
he flutters home
a cloaked Dracula
to the hollow of his room
where he will sleep all day.

This is a perfect example of someone metaphorically saying their personality is like a bat.

I am working on a book right now, and I am like 65 pages into writing it. Someone told me that there was "no point" in writing a vampire book because they are going out of style… I did not know that books HAD styles… And my vampires are not all sparkly, don’t drink human blood, perfect Cullen vampires, so to speak. They are much more traditional. What do you think?

I’m on the fifth Harry Potter book and I will be done with them soon. I am going to read the Twilight books after that but then I won’t know what to read. Please don’t recommend the Lord of the Rings books because it’s a bit too much for me to handle. I wouldn’t mind reading a vampire book or another magic book.

My mother started dating this guy back in 2004 and married him 2 years ago. Throughout this time he has been a huge jerk to me by making fun of my weight and threatens me on a daily basis. Whenever I was 16 he and my mother made me move away from a school that I loved to a tiny school that was nothing but full of gothic people. I kept all my stuff from my old school and put them in a box that I kept on a shelf in my closet. For the past 2 years he has kept threatening me and wants nothing more than to get me out of his house and my mother does nothing except agree with him but only because he is her sugar daddy who is paying all her bills for her. Whenever I did leave the house once she started crying and begged me to come back home only for it to turn into the same thing over again. I dont have any place to go now. Last Friday my step father told me that I wasnt keeping my room clean enough and forced me to leave my room while him and my mother "cleaned" it up (which they threw away half of my stuff) and he grabbed me by the hair whenever I told his dog to get out of my way and said that if I ever touched that dog then he will snap my GD neck into. My mother didnt do anything and they ended up locking me out of the house and I ended up staying at my neighbors for the night. Whenever I came back the next morning I found out that he threw out all of the stuff I kept in the box that was from my old school. I had a plan to try to get it back before the garbage man came but my plan backfired. I have been living in this hell for 5 years and I am tired of it. I have no money, car, or a place to stay. What can I do to get back at him in a way that he would have never expected that it was me. I was thinking of doing it a month from now whenever he and my mother thinks that Ive gotten over it.

I want to create a novel… but not about humans. I am into immortal creatures, mystical beings. I was thinking of making a book about vampires, sorta like House Of night series… like how it has a vampyre highschool only vamps attend. But… I need a good story idea!
I’m seriously out, I am an amazing writer with such creative ideas how the story could go, I just need one main idea to put my focus on….
